The Hub Performing Arts Centre proudly presents AETHER, featuring the graduating class of 2024 from our HUBPRO Full-Time Performing Arts Course. This original, student-led production will showcase innovative works from some of Australia’s leading choreographers and movement directors.

In a mystical realm supported by seven pillars, an outsider arrives: The Seeker. The arrival of The Seeker disrupts the peace, causing the seven pillars to lose their strength and connection to their cosmic essence and be cast back down to Earth. Determined to restore balance, a celestial being named The Weaver reunites the pillars and together they confront the negative forces found on Earth, symbolising the collective struggle against societal pressures and internal fears. AETHER explores the journey of combined strength, as the pillars work together to restore balance and return home to their celestial realm, aka themselves.

This show is a hand written commentary on how society often pressures individuals to set aside their dreams in favor of safer, more conventional paths. AETHER reflects the inner conflict and courage required to resist conformity, challenging audiences to confront their own dreams and limitations. Through the Seeker and pillar's journey, this production celebrates the transformative power of resilience and creativity, inviting viewers to imagine a world where authentic passions and dreams can not only be followed, but achieved.
